Argile Microconglomerat Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Informal name after sediment facies, which is a glacial-marine origin.
Synonym: Hassi el Hadjar (Spina, 2015); Argile Microconglomérat Fm; Microconglomerate claystone (translation of facies name); Argile Microcongl. Fm (abbreviated; Klett, 2000 charts).

Lithology and Thickness
The Argile Microconglerat Fm is made up of microconglomeratic mudstones that is truncated at its base by the Glacial Unconformity. Interpreted as glacial-marine in origin. It is laterally equivalent to the Bir Tlacsin Fm of the Ghadames Basin (Klett, 2000).
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It is truncated at its base by the Glacial Unconformity; below which is the Gres d’Oued Saret Fm.
Upper contact
It is conformably overlain by the Gres de Remada Fm.

Depositional setting
Interpreted as glacio-marine from a transgressive event resulting from the initial melting of the Late Ordovician Gondwana ice cap (e.g., Spina, 2015, citing Paris et al., 2000).
